Leah Turner of Turner & Pooch will be co-hosting this weekend which is specifically for owners of reactive dogs.
Leah will be leading the daily group neutral walks. Neutral walks are on-lead group walks aimed at helping dogs with big feelings learn how to overcome those feelings. Leah is the Honest Hounds walk leader for the North / East London area.
Neutral Walks are structured, on-lead group walks for dogs who:
- React to other dogs or people,
- Find greetings or social situations challenging,
- Have experienced overexposure, trauma, or misinterpretation.
These walks aren’t about traditional socialising. Instead, they provide a calm, controlled environment where dogs can walk near others without the expectation to interact. The focus is on safety, structure, and reducing stress for both dogs and their owners.
Optional extra: Introduction to Mantrailing sessions – this activity teaches dogs similar skills to those used by search and rescue dogs but is very much a fun/sport version – essentially a great game of hide and seek. It is suitable for dogs of any age, any breed, and is particularly good for reactive dogs as they work solo and never need come into contact with one another. You can find out more about this sport here. This activity can be added to your weekend itinerary for £55.
