Tucked away on the Cornwall–Devon border, close to Saltash and Plymouth but feeling a million miles from anywhere, our 40-acre farm offers a wonderfully private setting for an intimate wedding in Cornwall.

Say your vows beside the river, by the pool, in your private garden or in our atmospheric little Well House ‘chapel’. Afterwards, celebrate with photographs around the farm, a special meal for two and a few days to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

“Elopement weddings hold a very special place in our hearts, as it’s exactly how we chose to get married all those years ago!

At the time, life had rather taken over. Serious illness, followed closely by the arrival of our eldest child, meant that planning a big wedding simply wasn’t a priority. We wanted something lovely and memorable, but above all, quick to organise, easy and stress-free.

Being able to arrange our wedding in just a few weeks and escape for a few days, just the two of us, was absolutely perfect. With the flowers, witnesses and all the little arrangements taken care of, there was very little for us to worry about. We even had the option of a photographer without having to spend hours finding and booking one ourselves – and we’re so glad we said yes! Those photographs are such lovely reminders of our day (and of how much younger we looked!).

Set within over 40 acres of countryside, woodland, orchard and our rewilded nature reserve, nature is very much at the heart of life here. We generate renewable energy from our solar panels, grow produce using regenerative methods and work with wonderful local suppliers wherever possible.

For your wedding day, we can help you choose local, seasonal flowers and food, and even provide sustainable confetti made from flower petals gathered here on the farm.

With your accommodation, ceremony and celebrations all in one place, there’s no need to spend your wedding day travelling between venues either. Instead, you can slow down, enjoy your surroundings and turn your elopement into a peaceful few days away together.

Absolutely.

After all, if you’re keeping the guest list to the people who matter most, it would be rather unfair to leave the dog at home.

Lower Marsh Farm is dog friendly, so your four-legged family member can be part of your stay and your wedding day. We can even arrange a professional dog chaperone to lend a hand while you’re getting ready, during photographs or whenever you need them.

How much does an elopement wedding in Cornwall cost?

Our Cornwall elopement wedding packages start from £1,600 for two people, including a three-night stay at Lower Marsh Farm. Your stay, ceremony and a number of lovely extras are included, and you can add photography, private dining, cake, treatments and other touches to make the celebration completely your own.

What is included in your elopement package?

Our elopement package includes a three-night stay for two in either Orchard Cottage or Bulrush Barn, your wedding ceremony in one of our beautiful ceremony locations, up to two witnesses if required, up to two hours of wedding coordination, a cream tea on arrival, wedding flowers and a breakfast hamper each morning.

We can also help arrange optional extras, including photography, a wedding cake, private dining, additional flowers, hair and make-up, spa treatments and a dog chaperone.

Can we elope at Lower Marsh Farm with just the two of us?

Yes. Lower Marsh Farm specialises in intimate elopement weddings for two in Cornwall, with accommodation, your ceremony and wedding coordination all in one place.

You can escape to the farm, stay for three nights and enjoy a wonderfully intimate wedding with no guest list or big celebration to organise. We’ll be around to help everything run smoothly, while giving you plenty of privacy and time to simply enjoy being together.

Do we need witnesses?

Yes. For a legal wedding ceremony in England, you will need two witnesses to be present and sign the marriage schedule.

If you’re eloping completely on your own, don’t worry – we can arrange witnesses for you, so there’s no need to invite guests simply to fulfil this requirement.

Can you provide witnesses for our wedding?

Yes, we’d be delighted to. If it’s just the two of you, we can provide up to two witnesses as part of your elopement package.

It means you really can keep your wedding to just the two of you while still having everything you need for your legal ceremony.

Can our dog come to our elopement?

Absolutely! Lower Marsh Farm is very dog friendly, so there’s no reason your four-legged family member should miss your wedding.

Can you arrange our photographer, flowers and cake?

Yes. Your elopement can be as simple as you like, or we can help arrange all those lovely wedding-day details for you.

We work with some wonderful local suppliers and can help with photography, additional flowers, wedding cake, private dining, hair and make-up, treatments and more. We can also coordinate everything for you, taking much of the hassle out of planning your elopement from further afield.

Can we book a last-minute elopement?

Very possibly! One of the lovely things about an elopement is that it doesn’t necessarily require months – or years – of planning.

We often have dates available from just a few weeks to a few months ahead, subject to our accommodation and ceremony availability. The biggest consideration is usually registrar availability, so please contact us before booking your registrar and we’ll provisionally hold your preferred date while you make the arrangements.

How do we book a registrar for an elopement in Cornwall?

If you’d like a legally recognised civil ceremony at Lower Marsh Farm, you’ll need to arrange the registrar separately. Please contact us first to check that your preferred date is available before confirming your registrar.

We’ll then guide you through the next steps and provide the information you need to arrange your ceremony.

Can we have guests at our elopement?

Our elopement package is specifically designed as an intimate celebration for just the two of you, with up to two witnesses for the ceremony.
