We are very lucky to have numerous stunning National Trust properties nearby. Starting with Cotehele House, Mill & Quay which is just a few miles away, which has a working watermill, workshops, and a lovely tearoom. Even without going inside, there are plenty of walks available around the estate and along to Calstock. If you do go inside when the daffodils are in flower, keep a look out for those developed by the du Plessis brothers at Lower Marsh Farm!
Lydford Gorge is pretty fantastic too with its 30m waterfall and Devil’s Cauldron (a giant pothole that roars!).
If you are visiting us during the winter months, many of the properties are closed but this doesn’t mean you can’t visit (for free!). At Lydford Gorge, for example, you can walk down to the waterfall then go to one of the pubs in the village – we always enjoy the warming fire at The Castle Inn.
